How to use MAC Address Generator & Vendor Hints
Generate unicast MAC addresses or inspect a prefix against a bounded, dated local vendor-hint table.
What to provide
Enter an existing MAC to inspect, a 3-byte prefix such as 00:1C:42 to generate from it, or leave empty for random locally administered addresses.
- Paste, type, or drag and drop a supported text file into the input area.
- Choose the options that match your intended result.
- Select “Run tool” or press Ctrl/Command + Enter, then copy, download, or move the result back into the first input for another pass.
What the result means
Canonical addresses, administration/transmission bits, and a clearly scoped vendor hint when locally known.
Privacy and safety
This utility is loaded as browser code and processes your input only in this tab. OmniCastConverter has no upload endpoint and never stores your content, filenames, tokens, or secrets. Generated markup and code are shown as inert text and are never executed.
Limitations
- The small offline prefix table is a dated hint, not an authoritative IEEE registry. Random universally administered addresses can collide with real hardware and should not be deployed.
